Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are in a completely different ecosystem than they’ve been in all season. Literally speaking, that is. For those that don’t know, El Paso, Texas is wildly different than Seattle, Washington.

That’s not to say one is better than the other or anything along those lines. That’s not where I’m going with this. Where I’m going is that Seattle, especially this time of year, happens to have a fair bit of rain and get kinda cold and stuff.

El Paso, on the other hand, is a bit different. It’s drier. And this year, with the various different atmospheric forces at play, it’s a bit warmer. It’ll snow in El Paso occasionally. It’ll get cold in El Paso. But right now? It’s a nice temperate temperature that won’t really overwhelm anyone in any sort of way.

Let’s take a look at what the weather forecast looks like for the upcoming 2024 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl between the Washington Huskies and the Louisville Cardinals.

2024 Sun Bowl weather forecast: What is the weather like in El Paso for the Sun Bowl?

According to the good folks who know meteorology and science and stuff over at Weather.com, it’s going to get kinda chilly in El Paso overnight, but things should warm up a fair bit by the time kickoff rolls around for the game.

The New Year’s Eve matchup between the Huskies and Cardinals will be pretty cozy and comfortable, all things considered. The early afternoon weather in El Paso will feature some sunny skies and the temperatures will be around 66 degrees when we get to the 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT kickoff.

Around the time that the game ends, temperatures will be in the upper 60’s, around 68 degrees, and there will be a bit of a breeze from the southwest at 8 mph.

Honestly, that’s great football weather. It’ll be quite enjoyable for folks to be outside in this sort of weather. You can enjoy the game without having to deal with any sort of adverse conditions and both teams should be able to play their game plans without having to adjust drastically.
