Washington football remains 10-0 in a dominant win over Utah after shutting them out in the second half.

The last time the Washington football program was 10-0 was in 1991 when they won the National Championship.

The Huskies’ defensive prowess has been both a boon and a potential Achilles’ heel in their College Football Playoff quest.

In their recent matchup against Utah, the defense faced an early setback but rebounded impressively in the second half. Utah started the game three-and-out and was forced to punt on back-to-back drives. However, Utah followed it with four consecutive touchdowns to end the first half with a 28-24 lead.

Despite a shaky first half, marked by Utah’s four consecutive touchdowns, the Huskies adjusted. Whatever adjustment the Huskies defense made worked. They completely shut out Utah’s offense in the second half, securing two interceptions and a safety.

Even after the safety, Utah still had a chance to tie the game but the second interception blew it for them.

This has been a common trend for Washington’s defense this season as they always find a way to be in control by the end of the game thanks to the defense stepping up.

Whether it will be enough to be true contenders remains to be seen. Questions linger about their ability to withstand offensive powerhouses like Ohio State, Georgia, and Michigan in the CFP, making each game a crucial test of their championship aspirations.
