Washington football predicted to win Fiesta Bowl over Ohio State
Washington football is predicted to win the Fiesta Bowl over Ohio State.
In a preseason projection by FanSided’s John Buhler, the Washington football program is earning a spot in the College Football Playoff and will emerge victorious over Ohio State.
Washington would be a favorite over Ohio State for two reasons. One key factor would be that the Huskies’ explosive offense would likely pose a significant challenge to the Buckeye’s defense.
On the other hand, Ohio State still has uncertainty surrounding its quarterback position. This might be a vulnerability that the Huskies could exploit to their advantage to snag the victory.
Additionally, the prediction highlights Michael Penix Jr as a Heisman Trophy candidate. If he lives up to the hype and delivers an outstanding performance, it could potentially elevate Washington’s chances of clinching a title.
Another thing to note is that this matchup would be a showdown between two of the best wide receiver duos in college football; Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka and Washington’s Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan. Ironically, Egbuka is from the state of Washington and was recruited by the Huskies.
Obviously, we still have an entire season ahead of us but it’s sure fun to try and predict the year’s outcome. The last time the Huskies were in the College Football Playoff, they faced a tough Alabama team and lost 24-7. They would have a much better chance at beating Ohio State if this prediction were to come true.
