Husky tight end Jack Westover should be one name to watch this season.

There are a lot of things to look forward to this season for the Washington football program and Jack Westover is one of them. Westover emerged as a more prominent figure in the offense under Kalen DeBoer last season and the talented tight end will look to continue making an impact for the Huskies.

Although he began his journey with the team as a walk-on in 2018, Westover has steadily proven himself on the field and earned his spot as a key contributor and a scholarship.

Washington football’s Jack Westover looks to continue his impact

In 2022, the 6’3″ and 247-pound tight end played in all 13 games, showcasing his reliability and durability. He caught 31 passes for 342 yards and one touchdown while sharing snaps with Devin Culp. He also averaged 10.1 yards per reception. While he might not score often, Westover still finds a way to contribute significantly to the team’s offensive success.

Westover’s versatility makes him a valuable asset for Washington football. He can effectively serve as a safety valve in the passing game, providing a reliable option for the quarterback when under pressure, while also contributing as a run blocker.

It will be exciting to see the jump that Westover makes from 2022 to 2023 in year two under Coach DeBoer especially with quarterback Michael Penix Jr back for one more season.
