UPDATE: The Washington at Washington State game has been postponed.

Washington basketball will face off against Washington State tonight.

It was only about two weeks ago when Washington basketball’s season seemed like it was in jeopardy. The Huskies had to forfeit one game, postpone two, and cancel another due to positive COVID-19 tests within the program.

However, the team persevered and made it back in time to play Seattle University on Dec. 18 and Utah Valley on Dec. 21.

Tonight’s game against the Washington State Cougars will be their first in-conference play of the season. The Husky’s performance has been disappointing so far despite the promising talent that they have on the team. They need to make a big statement, and the game against the Cougars is the one to do it.

Huskies vs Cougars Odds

The WynnBET college basketball odds have Washington State as 13-point favorites at home over the Huskies. The total for the game is set an over/under of 136 points.

Huskies vs Cougars prediction

The Huskies currently sit at 5-5 with no Pac-12 games while the Cougars are 8-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The Cougars out-number the Huskies in terms of average points per game (75.7 vs 69.7), field goal percentage (42.5% vs 39%), rebounds, assists, and blocks. The Huskies earn the edge over their rivals when it comes to steals per game with an average of 7.8 versus the Cougars 6.1.

While Washington has been widely inconsistent on the court this season, they have been able to routinely count on Terrell Brown Jr. to put points on the board. Brown is currently averaging 21.4 points per game, ranking sixth in the nation.

The UW has had trouble landing three-pointers all year and has made 57 of its 200 attempted.

Washington basketball will have to do a better job all around if they want to start making a difference.

We’re predicting a 63-57 Cougar victory.
