Washington football’s schedule for the 2022 season has been released.

The Pac-12 released the full conference schedule for the 2022 College Football season, excluding game times and broadcast schedules. Washington football will open their season on Sept. 3 against Kent State and will play four consecutive games at home.

Last season, the Huskies were heavily favored over Montana and lost in shocking 13-7 fashion, so the opener against Kent State shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Following Washington’s four-game stint at home, they will be forced to travel back-to-back to UCLA and Arizona State, respectively, which is certainly going to be a challenge for this team under a new head coach.

Washington football 2022 schedule takeaways

One thing to note on the newly released Husky football schedule is that there are no games scheduled to be played on a Friday. The Apple Cup will be played on a Saturday this year. The last time it was played on a Saturday was in 2017.

The Huskies are also not slated to play Lincoln Riley’s USC or the defending conference champions, Utah.

They will have a BYE week in Week 9, the last full week of October, before they take on Oregon State (home) and Oregon (away).

This will be the first year since 2018 that the Huskies will play the Oregon Ducks and Washington State Cougars on the road. It is also the first time they will play a Power 5 conference opponent at home since 2016, as they will host Michigan State on Sept. 17.

A four-game home start is quite the start for the Huskies, but it’s not all going to be an easy ride. For a team looking to reload rather than rebuild, they are going to have to step up when it comes to taking on Pac-12 opponents.
