Washington football has had two weeks to re-evaluate their plan going forward after an insufferable 2-3 start to their 2021 season.

The Huskies are set to take on their third Pac-12 opponent of the year when they head back home to compete against the UCLA Bruins.

Last week, Washington was on a BYE week. The Huskies coaching staff spent a majority of the BYE on the road recruiting, but hopefully, they found time to stir up some internal conversations about where their team is going currently.

It’s amazing to see how downhill the Washington football program has gone in two years under Jimmy Lake.

Washington football vs UCLA Week 7 Odds

The Week 7 betting odds on WynnBET have the Washington Huskies favored over the UCLA Bruins by one point. The over/under is set at 54.5.

Huskies vs Bruins Week 7 prediction

UCLA is 4-2 on the year and has lost only one Pac-12 match-up against the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Bruins rushing attack isn’t going to be an easy one to stop, especially with how atrocious Washington’s run defense is.

UCLA’s running backs Zach Charbonnet and Brittain Brown are ranked second and third, respectively, in the Pac-12 in terms of rushing yards. The Husky defense is giving up an average of 179.6 yards per game while UCLA’s offense averages 195.3 yards per game.

While UW’s passing game has been lacking, they continue to average more passing yards than their opponents due to their potent secondary. On the other hand, the Bruins pass defense isn’t doing too well and giving up an average of 267.8 passing yards a game.

It’s going to be another tough match-up for Washington if their run defense can’t step up and the offense can’t get the momentum going.

dark. Next. Washington Huskies battle plan for start of conference play

I find it hard to believe that the Huskies can find a way to drastically turn things around at this point in the season. Because of this, I predict a 31-24 UCLA win.
