Six Washington football players were named to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist. The Reese’s Senior Bowl is an annual college football all-star game that highlights the talents of the nation’s invited seniors ahead of the NFL Draft.

The Huskies among the invited include offensive linemen Henry Bainivalu, Jaxson Kirkland, and Luke Wattenberg; linebacker Ryan Bowman; tight end Cade Otton; and defensive back Brendan Hadley-Riles.

Washington football is known for pumping out a variety of talent in the NFL Draft, with the most prestigious selections being on defense. Two-time All-Pro’s Marcus Peters and Budda Baker are two former Huskies who are among the best defensive backs in the league.

New to the NFL are defensive lineman Joe Tryon and Levi Onwuzurike who have the chance to be the next two defensive studs to come out of the University of Washington.

The Huskies 2022 NFL Draft class so far looks balanced between the offense and defense, but that is only considering seniors and not undergraduates who will be eligible to declare following the season.

Jaxon Kirkland and Cade Otton are two to watch for Washington football in 2021

Jaxon Kirkland and Cade Otton are two names that stand out on this watchlist of Washington football players. Kirkland has been a staple for the Huskies’ offensive line and early mock drafts even have him slated to go in the first round.

As for Otton, he still has a ways to go to cement himself as one of the top tight ends in the draft but he certainly has a chance to make a statement this season. Despite playing in only four games last season due to the shortened season, Otton had 18 receptions for 258 yards (average 14.3) and three touchdowns.

According to NFL Mocks, Otton is currently considered to be a day two prospect (rounds 2-3). If he can improve his production in 2021 and route-running skills, he has a chance to climb the charts.

The others…

Brendan “Bookie” Hadley-Riles is a defensive back transfer from the University of Oklahoma. The Huskies continue to have such a talented defensive backfield and adding “Bookie” to the mix only sweetens the deal. He has the versatility to be plugged in as a nickel, corner, or safety.

Henry Bainivalu has been named to the 2021 Outland Trophy Watchlist which recognizes standout interior offensive linemen.

Luke Wattenberg has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist for 2021 which recognizes the nation’s most outstanding center in college football.

As for, sixth-year senior Ryan Bowman has another chance to make an impact with the Huskies defense. In four years played, Bowman has 102 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and one interception.

Next. Washington Football: Expect OLB Zion Tupuola-Fetui back this fall. dark

Depending on who gets invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and who elects to attend and play, I have a feeling Washington football will show out no matter what.
