Sam Huard

The highest-ranked quarterback recruit the Huskies have pulled in since Jake Locker, it wouldn’t come as a shock if the five-star freshman won the starting job at some point during his first year on campus. Huard is the complete package at the position, and whenever he sees the field, will be a sparkplug at the position. He already has chemistry with McMillan and 2022 wide receiver commit Germie Bernard from their days playing 7on7 together with Ford Sports Performance, without mentioning 2021 four-star commit, and his high school teammate Jabez Tinae.

Huard, the country’s number one rated pro-style quarterback has an elite deep ball, that he’s able to throw with tremendous touch. Morris, who was able to show an excellent short to intermediate game, his deep tosses still needs some work. There were quite a few times over the four games in 2020 where he either under or overthrew his intended receiver, which means that the issue isn’t in his arm strength, but rather in mastering his touch.

Huard’s high school film displays the ability to do that consistently, even when he’s on the move with pressure in his face. While it’s a completely different thing to do that at the college level, Huard has been groomed for this his whole life. Husky fans have known this since he committed before the 2018 Apple Cup. With his father, Damon, and uncle, Brock, both having started for the Huskies and having played in the NFL, pressure shouldn’t be an issue for the young Huard.
