Washington football has three players walk away with weekly honors after their 44-28 win over Arizona

After Zion Tupuola-Fetui earned Defensive Lineman of the Week after his dominant performance against Oregon State, Washington football walked away from their second game of the year with three weekly award winners!

After another two-sack performance, ZTF shockingly wasn’t named Defensive Player of the Week, but he was honored once again as the conference’s Defensive Lineman of the Week. He’s filled some big shoes after Joe Tryon decided to declare for the NFL Draft, and Laiatu Latu missed the first two games with an undisclosed injury. As it stands right now, even with a shortened schedule, ZTF deserves to be in the conversation for every defensive award in the country. He also deserves to be in the All-American discussion, as he’s on pace to record 12 sacks this season, and with the way he’s performed so far, that doesn’t seem like much of a stretch.

On the offensive side, Luke Wattenburg took home the Pac-12’s Offensive Lineman of the Week award. Wattenburg slid over from guard to center in the offseason, and through two games he’s been very steady. The Huskies have only allowed one sack over the first two games, and Dylan Morris has seemingly all day to throw whenever he drops back.

Speaking of Morris, he was Washington’s final honoree, taking home the conference’s Freshman of the Week award. After a tumultuous offseason filled with nothing but questions about who would be playing quarterback, Morris emerged victorious from the four-man competition. After an underwhelming performance against Oregon State, where the game plan was run-heavy, the coaching staff unleashed him. And how did he respond? By going 15/25 for 230 yards and two touchdowns. He easily could’ve hit the 300-yard mark and thrown another touchdown or two, if not for a few drops.

The Huskies showed a lot of great things in their win over Arizona, and they’ll look to keep that rolling against whoever might get in their way on Saturday.
