Junior Adams is at it again, nabbing a gigantic four-star receiver from Nevada for Washington football

Washington football is still attempting to close some of their top targets for 2021, a lot of the coaching staff’s attention has turned to 2022. On Thursday, that paid off in four-star receiver Germie Bernard from Liberty (Nevada) High School.

When you throw on the film, it’s easy to see why Junior Adams fell in love with Bernard. At 6’2, 195 pounds, he’s a playmaker in the open field, and is incredibly tough to tackle. He runs crisp routes, has excellent hands, and is a fierce run blocker. Bernard can create space for himself in his routes and after the catch, and will be a force to be reckoned with in what’s quickly becoming one of the best wide receiver groups in the country. Not to mention they’ll be catching passes from 2021 commit, five-star quarterback Sam Huard.

Speaking of Huard, the two already have some chemistry, having played together on the Ford Sports Performance 7on7 team. Bernard will also be joining forces with a former teammate, as redshirt freshman Troy Fautanu also attended Liberty.

Bernard is currently rated inside the top 200 for the class of 2022 by both 247 Sports and their Composite, which have him sitting at 181st, and 168th respectively. He’s got potential to break into the top 100 by the end of his senior year, because his teammate, four-star tight end Moliki Matavo will be graduating in 2021, leaving Bernard as the team’s best and most experienced pass catcher for his senior year.

This is a huge get for the Huskies to get an elite receiver in the boat so early. Not only does this kick the class off on a great note, but the argument can be made the Huskies are in a good position with more top-end talent than 2021. Kicking off the class with elite out of state talent can show other recruits that Jimmy Lake and co. are building something special.

Specifically at wide receiver, 2022 class has potential to be better than 2020’s, which is arguably the best Washington has ever signed. Tobias Merriweather is a must get for Adams, the top 100 prospect plays his high school ball at Union (Wash.) and seems to be very high on the Huskies. A few other names that hold offers and seem to be high on the Huskies are top 50 prospect C.J. Williams at Mater Dei (Calif.), and Darrius Clemons at Westview (Oregon), who recently ran a laser-timed 4.37 40-yard dash.

Congratulations to Germie on his commitment, and we can’t wait to watch him play in purple and gold!
