Joe Tryon

After a very strong second half of the 2019 season, Joe Tryon looks like he will be head and shoulders above everybody else as a pass rusher during the 2020 campaign.  Tryon recorded six of his eight sacks over a four week stretch, and flashing that he can be a real game wrecker from his OLB spot.

He’s athletic enough to drop into a shallow zone coverage, but he’s going to make his living at the NFL level rushing the passer. The 6’5, 262 pounder has a great first step, and long arms to keep tackles from getting hands on his chest. He’s greatly improved on his power moves since he arrived on campus, and his complete arsenal is what led SB Nation to mock him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

While I stated this isn’t a depth chart prediction, expect Tryon to start and most likely end up leading the team in sacks. His potential is through the roof, and he hasn’t even come close to hitting his ceiling yet.
