Washington basketball is coming into this game at 7-2 after falling at home against Gonzaga in their last game

Washington basketball’s two McDonalds’ All-Americans, freshmen Isaiah Stewart and Jaden McDaniels have shown everyone how good they are over the early part of the season.

Stewart leads the Huskies in scoring and rebounding with 17, and 7.9 per game respectively. Stewart’s main source of offense has been in the post. But he’s also great at finding the open man when he gets double-teamed.

McDaniels is the Huskies’ second-leading scorer with 15 per game. He is third on the team in rebounds, behind Stewart and Nahziah Carter, averaging 5.2 per game. Also, he displays great court vision for a big man, averaging 2.7 assists per game, which is second on the team behind point guard Quade Green, who is averaging 5.2.

Carter is the third Husky averaging double figures at 14.7 points per game. Carter has really developed over his time at Washington, and is able to score from all three levels. Those three have been the centerpieces of the Husky offense so far this season.

For the Redhawks, junior guard Terrell Brown is their leading scorer, averaging 20.9 points per game. He leads the team in assists, with 4.5 per game, and is the second-leading rebounder for the Redhawks with an average of 7.2. In the loss to the Huskies last year, Brown scored only five points, however, he had nine assists and six rebounds.

Senior Myles Carter is the only forward listed in the starting five. Carter is the Redhawks’ second-leading scorer, averaging 11.1 points per game. He and Brown are the only players averaging double digits for Seattle U. He’s the team leader in rebounding, at 7.7 per game, and last year against the Huskies, he scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The other three starters are listed as guards. So the Redhawks are going with four guards and one forward. Though Seattle leads in experience the Huskies will have the height advantage. The other three starters are senior Morgan Means who had a big game last year against the Huskies, finishing with 21 points, senior Delante Jones, and sophomore Riley Grigsby who both played limited minutes last year against the Huskies.

The Seattle Redhawks run  a seven-man rotation. The two guys off the bench are senior guard Mattia Da Campoand junior guard Aaron Nettles.

light. Read. Gonzaga win streak continues over Washington basketball

The Redhawks are a tough, experienced team, but the talent of the Huskies should find a way to prevail.
