Defensive Line/Outside Linebackers

The Huskies rotate a lot of players along the defensive line, so don’t be surprised if we see more than just the four guys listed on the depth chart over the course of the season. Levi Onwuzurike and Josiah Bronson will be the starters, with Tuli Letuligasenoa and Benning Potoa’e currently listed as the backups. Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of Sam Taimani this season, and maybe even a bit of true freshmen Jacob Bandes, Faatui Tuitele, and Sama Paama at various points during the season, most likely without burning their redshirts.

At outside linebacker, Ryan Bowman and Joe Tryon are currently listed as the starters, but we should see a lot of backups Ariel Ngata and Myles Rice this year. Bowman’s snaps should be limited, because that’s when he was at his best during his first two years on campus. The popular (not so bold) prediction is that Laiatu Latu will burn his redshirt, and I’m completely on board with that. I think he takes over across from Tryon by the end of the season, which will give Washington an incredibly dynamic pair of edge rushers.
