The Washington basketball team announced their 2019-20 out of conference basketball schedule! How will they fare against the competition?

Washington basketball is already underway! The Huskies are currently taking on (and beating) Serie A professional teams in Italy in exhibition games. The rest of the schedule begins on October 31 where the Huskies take on Western Washington in an exhibition game at home.

The Huskies will head to Anchorage, Alaska to take on Baylor University on November 8th in the Armed Forces Classic. The Dawgs will come home on November 12th to play Mount St. Mary’s University.

Four days later, the Huskies will be playing in the James Naismith Classic in Toronto against the highly touted Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols are ranked #6 in the pre-season by the Associated Press.

The Huskies will come home to play the next seven games. The first game will be on November 19th against Maine followed by Montana on the 22nd. They will finish November against the San Diego Toreros on November 24th.

The Huskies will begin December playing South Dakota on the 2nd followed by Eastern Washington on the 4th. They will take on another state-rival in a tougher matchup in the Gonzaga Bulldogs who are ranked #4 by the Associated Press going into the season. Last year the Bulldogs beat the Huskies in a narrow win in Spokane, 81-79. This year’s Husky team is younger, but more talented, so who knows what will happen? The Huskies end the bouts against in-state rivals when they face off with the Seattle University Redhawks.

The Huskies will end the non-conference schedule by going to Hawaii to play in the Diamond Head Classic, beginning against Ball State on December 22nd. If they win, they’ll play in the semi finals on December 23rd, with the finals taking place on Christmas Day the 25th.

The Huskies will begin the Pac-12 the first week of 2020 against UCLA and USC, and we should have a pretty good understanding of where the team stands then.
