The Conclusion

The benefits are too great to ignore, and hopefully, Chris Petersen realizes that soon. He’s smart enough of a coach to know that if his plays are getting stolen, he’ll recognize them on defense and know how to switch them up or draw the defense in and switch things up on offense. Petersen has never been big on fanfare, which is totally fine because he’s built an incredible program and repertoire for himself without it, but that can only get him so far. In this world of east coast bias in college football, Petersen needs all the attention and hype to get this program to a national championship.

People love football, and while overcoming late start times isn’t easy to do when it comes to trying to get attention for your team, this is a way that he can get some more. Fans are starving to watch some college football, and if they played a real spring game, ESPN would probably pick it up and give the Huskies some extra attention. Husky fans would absolutely buy tickets to watch this, students would buy tickets, tailgate, line up early, and storm the gates to get into the game.

The culture is changing at Washington, and this is the next step.
