Washington football’s quarterback room gets a little bigger, thanks to the commitment of a 3-star QB from Southern California

Washington football has arguably the best quarterback room in the country already, and they’re adding another talented player to it in the form of three-star quarterback Ethan Garbers from Corona Del Mar (Calif.) High.

Some people are complaining that the quarterback room is too crowded, but you can never have too many, and Garbers is an impressive pocket passer, whose tape looks eerily similar to Jake Browning. Garbers threw 55 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions during his junior campaign and broke his brother’s record for the school record in passing touchdowns (his brother is Cal QB Chase Garbers).

Does Ethan have a shot to pry the starting job away from highly touted recruits Jacob Sirmon, Colson Yankoff, and Dylan Morris? Only time will tell, but Garbers will definitely be given a shot in Chris Petersen’s system. A lot of that also depends on whether Jacob Easion decides to stay or go, even though he will probably be a top-10 pick in the 2019 draft.

The early commitment of Garbers means a lot for the Huskies, and he’s already all in on recruiting the Huskies’ top targets in southern California to follow him to Montlake.

He’s already made these pitches to the top guard on the west coast, Myles Murao and five-star receiver Johnny Wilson. Garbers is also a teammate of one of the Dawgs’ top targets in the class, three-star tight end Mark Redman.

After not pulling in a tight end during the 2019 go-around, the Huskies need to do everything they can to make sure they get one in 2020, and a high-school teammate could be a big sell for Redman.

This class is shaping up to be a big one for the Huskies!
