Washington basketball is looking to add their second five-star recruit in Jaden McDaniels.

All eyes are set for the next potential five-star recruit in Jaden McDaniels. McDaniels is a local kid with offers from four other schools including Kentucky, UCLA, San Diego State and Texas. Washington Basketball’s newest recruit Isaiah Stewart and former Husky Isaiah Thomas have both been pushing for McDaniels to stay home and play for Washington.

Jaden McDaniels is a 6’11 power forward. Currently weighing in at 185lbs, he will spend this summer and the beginning of his freshman season bulking up and filling out his tall frame. ESPN has him currently ranked as the sixth highest recruit, and the highest ranked power forward in this class. Between his ability to stretch the floor and his body size, it’s easy to compare his game to Kevin Durant’s during his time with Texas.

McDaniels has stated he won’t be making any official announcements until his senior season of high school basketball is wrapped up, but it’s not too early to start being excited. The prospect of a Jaylen Nowell, Quade Green, Naz Carter, Jaden McDaniels, Isaiah Stewart starting five is absolutely something to look forward to, especially with the departure of four seniors this upcoming seniors.

Next. Isaiah Stewart commits to Washington. dark

Last week, it was announced that five-star forward Isaiah Stewart has decided to spend his college basketball career with Coach Mike Hopkins and the Washington Huskies. He had offers on the table from Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Syracuse as well. This marks the first five-star recruit committing to Washington since Hopkins joined the Huskies.

Earlier today, McDaniels and Stewart were both named to the McDonalds All-American Game. If McDaniels joins the Huskies, this will be the first time Washington has recruited two All-American’s in the same year since Martell Webster and Jon Brockman in 2005. Webster and Brockman never played together, as Webster opted to go straight to the NBA, forgoing his college career. In addition to Stewart and McDaniels, Kentucky transfer Quade Green was named to the McDonalds All-American game in 2016.
