There have been plenty of excellent running backs in Washington history, but the man who currently holds that position is by far one of the best of the bunch. Myles Gaskin burst onto the scene as a rookie for the Huskies, and has not looked back since, becoming one of the more prolific running backs in the history of the football program.

Gaskin played his high school ball at O’Dea in Seattle. It did not take long for the Huskies program to insert the local kid into the starting lineup. The youngster rushed for 1,302 yards as a freshman at Washington, setting the freshman single-season record for rushing touchdowns with 14 back in 2015.

He capped off his incredible freshman season by rushing for four touchdowns in the team’s Heart of Dallas Bowl victory, where he was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

From there, Gaskin has continued to dominate Pac-12 defenses. After being named the team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player as a freshman, he would go on to be a first-team All-Pac 12 player in his sophomore season.

A second-team performer in 2016 and 2017, Gaskin has rewrote the record books for the football program. He stands alone atop the list in many statistical rushing categories.

The program’s all-time leading rusher by over 1,000 yards, Gaskin also holds the record for most touchdowns with 55. He is a guy that should hear his name called in the 2018 NFL Draft. Thanks to the fact he came back for his senior season, the Huskies won their second Pac-12 title with him as the feature back. Washington will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl.
