Washington football lands a big recruit with DT Faatui Tuitele. WOOF!
Washington football needed some big-time help on the defensive line. After a huge senior day yesterday, the Huskies have to deal with the reality that three big pieces on that defensive line are graduating. Interior defensive linemen Greg Gaines, Shane Bowman, and Jaylen Johnson. Freshmen Sam Taimani and Tuli Letuligasenoa will be bigger pieces of the rotation next season, along with Levi Onwuzurike, who has really come into his own this season. Tuitele, a four-star DT out of St. Louis High in Honolulu, Hawaii joins Jacob Bandes as reinforcements for the Husky D-line next season, and they both might see playing time as true freshmen.

A Big Time Get
Tuitele is an Army All-American, and 247 Sports composite top 50 prospect. Coming in at 42nd overall, he becomes the highest-ranked commit in the 2019 class. And of course, heβs physically huge, measuring in at 6β4 and 300 pounds.
The Huskies have been doing their best to put themselves in the mix for some big-time recruits and Tuitele might be the first big piece in that puzzle. The Huskies beat out the biggest national powers to get him, as his final five came down to Washington, Texas, Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama.
Tuitele has a path laid out for him, being ranked the #1 player in Hawaii from St. Louis, as the last player to have that title was only some future Heisman winner by the name Tua Tagovailoa. By landing Tuitele, this also gives Washington three of the top five and four of the top seven players coming out of Hawaii this year. Hawaii is becoming a major pipeline state for UW, thanks to defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe, who always does a great job recruiting in his home state.
