Who are the players that opposing teams should fear most from Washington Football?
Ty Jones
Ty Jones is on track to be a superstar, and he’s showing flashes of his high ceiling this season. With just 23 catches for 409 yards and six touchdowns, Jones flat out embarrasses defensive backs on plays. Oh and not to mention that he’s 6’4, and can probably out-jump anybody in the Pac-12. Pretty scary if you’re a defensive back and you see him lining up across from you.
Byron Murphy
It must be pretty scary seeing Byron Murphy line up across from you as a receiver, because that means you aren’t going to see the ball thrown your way. He has four career interceptions and has 11 passes defended this season, which is good for 6th best in the country. Oh, and if you do happen to catch the ball around Murphy, be careful… this might happen.
JoJo McIntosh
When Husky fans, coaches, teammates, and opponents think of JoJo McIntosh, they think of one thing… HERE COMES THE BOOM. They call it “friendly fire” inside the locker room because sometimes he hits so hard and so fast, he takes out one of his teammates with him. I wouldn’t ever want to be a ball carrier and look up to see number 14 coming at me with a full head of steam.
Ben Burr-Kirven
Ok, yeah this one is pretty obvious, but come on, what can’t Ben Burr-Kirven do? The nation’s leading tackler, with three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, and an interception! #BBKforHeisman should get bigger! BBK scares offensive coordinators all over the conference because once he gets involved in a play, it’s over.
Jacob Eason
Oh. Yeah. Jake Browning should always be looked at fondly for his time here, he is arguably the best quarterback in Washington football history. But Husky fans, are you ready for Jacob Eason? He took his cannon arm home, and with next year’s receiving projected receiving corps of Aaron Fuller, Ty Jones, Hunter Bryant, and Marquis Spiker? They’re going to put the country on notice. Stay positive Husky fans, things are still looking up at UW.
