When the Washington Football team travels across the country to face Auburn on September 1 before a national audience, it will mark the opening of a very challenging 2018 schedule.  This is a season bursting with optimism as well as fraught with dangerous disappointment.  But the 2017 season had plenty of both too.  In the end, we learned the cruel lesson of injuries and becoming too confident.

This season, the team enters healthy. Perhaps the team is a bit wiser too.

While the Huskies, like every NCAA college football team lost some significant contributors to the NFL via the draft, the team remains stocked with talent on both the offense and defense.  The team has plenty of returning starters from last season’s 10-3 team.
