October is the heart of the 2018 season

By the time October arrives, the Washington Football team will have played five games, two Pac-12 contests, and one with national ranking implications.  So the expectation would be the month of October would offer a bit of a break.  It doesn’t.  In fact, the team faces the most challenging segment of the season.

Sat., Oct. 6 – at UCLA

A familiar team in UCLA. A familiar opposing head coach with Chip Kelly. But an unfamiliar pairing. Still, there is no denying that he ran a pretty successful program at Oregon. And now with UCLA, he could do the same. This will be a very tough road matchup for the Huskies. We know that UCLA will run a blur like offense to create matchup challenges with the Huskies.

Post-chip schedule

Sat., Oct. 13 – at Oregon

The Washington Huskies faced the Oregon Ducks last season without their quarterback. That game ended as a one-sided 38-3 victory. Now, the Ducks may be eager for revenge. But even with Justin Herbert, I can’t see the Ducks pulling the upset.

Sat., Oct. 20 – Colorado

Colarado fell from the Pac-12 penthouse to the bottom floor in a rather speedy fashion. The Colorado Buffalo will improve, but by how much? Not enough I fear for their fans. This is at Washington. Washington wins at home.

Sat., Oct. 27 – at California

The California Golden Bears suffered a huge loss against Washington on the road in 2017. It was their third consecutive loss. This season, they face the Huskies at home. Still, I don’t see the outcome changing.
