QB Jacob Eason officially transfers to Washington Football team
By Bret Stuter
From starter to bench to no role to transfer
Quarterback Jacob Eason was projected as the starting quarterback for the next three seasons for the University of Georgia. But he injured his knee during the 2017 season opener. That opened the door for backup freshman Jake Fromm to take over. In fact, Fromm did such an incredible job that Eason never got his job back. At season’s end, the Fromm-led Georgia Bulldogs finished second in the nation to top-ranked Alabama.
How do you bench Fromm after that season? And so, the outcome of that 2017 season meant that there was no role for Eason. And that resulted in his interest in transfering to the Washington Football team.
Good news travels …slow
The guesswork was eliminated weeks ago as reports piled up indicating Eason would transfer all that quarterbacking talent to Washington. But the official news did not arrive so quickly.
The announcement came today.
Jacob Eason, native of Lake Stevens, Wahington has come home. And there are many exciting considerations to discuss as a result.
