Recruiting Mosiah Liu garners needed WDE to Washington Football team

The 2018 Washington recruiting class grew in number as weakside defensive end Mosiah Liu commits to the Washington Football team
The Washington Football team ended their 2017 season with a pounding victory over cross-state rival Washington State University. But another victory, and perhaps more important to the team’s future, is the recruiting of weakside defensive end recruit Mosiah Liu for the class of 2018.
We’ve talked at length about the need for the Huskies to recruit defensive linemen, as the strength of this team has been the line of scrimmage. Of particular need for the team is defensive tackle, but the team needs contributors throughout the defensive line. Liu is a good fill for the team, which is at risk of losing two solid contributors on the defensive line in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Recruiting drought ends
Liu is the first commitment since August 7, 2017, when the team welcomed cornerback Dominique Hampton to the 2018 recruiting class. His play is a welcome addition to a team in need of defensive players. Right now, it’s imperative that the Washington Football team to reload the stellar defense which led the Pac-12 this season. Liu is such a talent.
The class of 2018 is back to 13 recruits. Of the class, eight players are offensive, four are defensive, and one, Trey Lowe, is an athletic recruit who could be either an offensive or defensive player for the Huskies.
From Ute to Husky
Liu had originally committed to the Utah Utes on August 17, 2017. Utah is a solid program for linemen, and their offer typically carries significant importance to line prospects.
But he received an offer from the University of Washington in November, and subsequently reopened his recruiting. Ultimately, he committed to Washington on November 23, 2017.
And so, the Huskies have a new recruit who fills a solid need. On one hand, he has a good size for a defensive end, and is still growing. On the other hand, he has upped his game significantly in his senior year. In fact, he averaged nearly five tackles per game, as well as one tackle for a loss.
