Washington Football survives Rutgers to win 30-14

Who showed up big in this game
I have a few players who, in my mind, showed up huge in this game. So let’s start off on the offensive side of the ball.
Running back Myles Gaskin is a running back in hot pursuit of recognition and accolades this season. Not to bolster his ego, but rather to recognize the efforts of his selfless teammates who work hard to give him holes to run through.
Are you receiving this?
But tonight, when those holes were not opening, he turned into a deadly receiver. In fact, he scored a beautiful touchdown on a pass from quarterback Jake Browning which will end up in the highlight reels.
Another big player was wide receiver Dante Pettis. He was not only the team’s leading receiver, but he ran a punt return in for the team’s first touchdown of the game to give the Huskies a lead they would never lose.
Pick apart that Huskies offense
Byron Murphy intercepted two passes. While that is plenty, it played a pivotal role in the game as Rutgers seemed to abandon the pass at key stretches of this game. It was not until Murphy sat out a defensive series that Rutgers revisited the passing offense, leading to the team’s second and final score with 10:41 remaining.
