As summer heats up, so has Washington Football recruiting efforts. In fact, the recent Rising Stars Football Camp has resulted in numerous scholarships offers to worthy athletes

The Washington Football coaching staff are busily recruiting for 2018, 2019, and 2020.  With so many classes to address, the coaches have a rule about handing out scholarships. On one hand, they don’t hand them out to the most talented players. On the other hand, they don’t hand out offers to the highest ranked players. In short, they hand out offers to “OKGs” – or “Our Kinda Guys”.

We try to give fans the heads up about where we expect the team to be active in the upcoming month. As such, we predict what will happen.  For July 2017, we are on record predicting the team will make an offer to a 2019 prospect.  Now, we appear to be ridiculously conservative.

2018 prospects shine

The team is sponsoring the 2017 Rising Stars football camp right now, and it’s a great time to get a solid look at players of the future. Take this performance by 2018 prospect outside linebacker Zion Tupoola-Fetui. His experience has strengthened both the bond and mutual interest.

Zion is the epitome of exactly what the Washington Huskies seek in their players. Passion, perfomance, and perseverance.

But he is not the only player to shine.  It seems that at the 2017 Rising Stars football camp, they have hit the motherlode of OKGs.

So what exactly is “our kinda guy” anyways? Well, I’m glad you asked.
