On a record setting night for the University of Washington, Washington Basketball Markelle Fultz arrived decked out in basketball shoes
Washington Basketball stood at the precipice of setting one more record. But before we get to that, let’s focus the man of the hour: Markelle Fultz. It is his night. The night he anticipated all his life. The night an NBA team called upon him to accept the top draft selection of the entire 2017 NBA Draft class.
So a special night means special attire right? And as one of my female friends once advised me (she was a model), the shoes say it all. So Markelle Fultz had special shoes for the occasion. So special, they were made out of basketballs.
Another Huskies record
And why not? He joins Kelsey Plum in the record books once more. This is the first time in history both the NBA and WNBA top picks have come from the same college
And the accolades began to shower upon the duo during the NBA Draft. After all, this is a moment of moments. Not only does Markelle Fultz stand atop the NBA Draft, but the University of Washington stands atop all other college basketball programs.
And with this moment, the Washington Huskies punctuate the achievements of the athletes this year by accomplishing the as-before unachievable.
Markelle Fultz will join Sidney Jones IV and Elijah Qualls in the city of Philadelphia. Kelsey Plum will continue on her WNBA career with the San Antonio Stars.
