As Washington Huskies Markelle Fultz finishes at NBA Combine, Kelsey Plum reveals she held upper hand on basketball court

In the modern day era of Billy Jean King versus Bobby Riggs, the question of gender and athletic proficiency is emerging as a storyline in 2017. In the week that Markelle Fultz is attending the 2017 NBA Combine, the story about his practicing with now WNBA star Kelsey Plum is beginning to come to light.
And the matter is not exactly building a strong case for Fultz as he becomes the new Washington Huskies basketball player to turn pro.
Which Huskies is Lead Dawg?
But the pecking order of the University of Washington is still in flux. If the University of Washington Huskies truly become the first school to produce the top NBA and WNBA prospects in the same year, then which of the Huskies is truly the lead?
That question is directly answered by Kelsey Plum.
Of course, that gauntlet could not go answered. And the predictable rebuttal of course.

The Washington Huskies colleagues have a great deal of respect and affinity for one another. Perhaps those are the necessary ingredients to stage a second “Battle of the Sexes”. The aftermath of King vs. Riggs changed the landscape for women’s tennis. Perhaps the social media standoff will do the same thing for women’s basketball.
