    NBA Lottery

You see, the NBA lottery is a rather unique event in professional sports.  Knowing the talents of the top one or two players often eclipses the talents of other players in the same draft, the NBA metes out the chances at the top pick via a lottery system.

Much like that nation’s POWERBALL lotteries off the chance at millions, the NBA lottery metes out the likelihood of choosing first in the upcoming 2017 NBA Draft.  Markelle Fultz is viewed by many to be a franchise making talent.

As such, the NBA has structured a chance to select him for each non-playoff team, however remote.

    Draft Swaps

Take for example, the Boston Celtics.  Well… wait a minute.. the Boston Celtics are a playoff team with Washington Huskies Alum Isaiah Thomas at the helm.  Yes, that’s true. But the Celtics possess the right to swap first round picks with the Brooklyn Nets.  If the Nets land the top pick, you can bet the Celtics will choose Markelle Fultz.

So too for the Philadelphia 76ers owning swap rights over the pick of the Sacramento Kings.  Should the Kings land the top pick, they will wave goodbye to Fultz as the pick passes to the Philadelphia 76ers.

With Kelsey Plum landing the top spot of the 2017 WNBA Draft, and with the Washington Huskies doing incredibly well in the 2017 NFL Draft, it’s only fitting for Markelle Fultz to end up as the top pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.  Now, the question is which NBA team will call his name?
