Washington Huskies Recruiting 2018 Soft Hands WR Devin Culp
By Bret Stuter
Football recruiting is year round. And so, Washington Huskies recruiting for 2018 continues the pace, landing soft hands wide receiver Devin Culp
The University of Washington Huskies recruiting class of 2018 is beginning to take shape. The team has set a very high bar, grabbing talented skill players. So far, the team has two top quarterbacks, two top wide receivers, a running back, and an outside line backer. But I am perhaps most excited at the news from today.
Devin Culp is part tight end, part wide receiver, and part newborn nurse. Part tight end from his 6-foot-5 230 pound frame. A solid young man with a truly defined physique. He plays from that strength, solid strides that gobble up yards while defenders hustle just to stay close. Part wide receiver, with solid footwork and head fakes that cross up even the most savvy defensive backs. And part newborn nurse. He has soft hands. Hands that grab a wobbly spiral and nestle the ball close to his body.
Huge Coup For Huskies
And one more thing. He’s about to join the Washington Huskies recruiting class of 2018.
The soft hands of Devin Culp. Currently rated as a three-star prospect, that rating will likely improve over the course of the next year. This young man is the real deal. He can play at either the tight end or the wide receiver position. He can block, tackle, catch, and run. He’s the real deal.

Acorn Doesn’t Fall Far From the Oak
But let’s not ignore a special person in the young man’s life. Confidence and optimism do not just “happen” in a young man’s life. Those character strengths are planted there. It takes a special person to cultivate optimism in a cynical world. Confidence only grows by following the example. Pia Culp is a living example of love, optimism, and confidence to her son Devin.
And good things did indeed happen.
And now you know the rest of the story. Congratulations to Devin, his mother Pia, and the UW Huskies football team. We are happy to welcome you to the Washington Huskies family.
