In the spirit of the 2017 NFL Combine, the University of Washington Announces Pro Day And Combine Day

On its official website, the University of Washington has announced the fourth annual Husky Combine Day set for March 11, 2017.

On the same day, the University of Washington will host a Pro Day at an earlier schedule.

Pro Day is the NFL scout equivalent of the NFL Combine for Husky hopefuls.   The Pro Day segment begins at 9 a.m. but is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.  And with good reason.  That day is all about the Husky athletes, and competing before the eyes of NFL scouts, executives, and coaches. Last season, Seattle Seahawk’s head coach Pete Carroll was in attendance.

On pro day, UW athletes compete in annual timing, measurement, and endurance in running, agility, strength, and football related skills.

Following pro day, the team will then open up competition for UW’s returning players at 2 PM.   The same drills and measurements will then be open to the public.

The schedule for combine day is as follows:

2:00 PM    – Returning Seniors
2:30 PM    – Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs
3:30 PM    – Running Backs, Tight Ends, Quarterbacks, Linebackers
4:30 PM   –  Offensive Linemen, Defensive Linemen, Long Snapper

All events will take place at the Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility.

Fans are invited to attend the Husky Combine free of charge, while Pro Day is closed to the public. Combine day is certainly a worthwhile event, as the competition will feature the 2017 University of Washington current players.

The Washington Huskies are coming off a very successful 2016 football season. But they face a far greater challenge on several fronts.  The team will lose a number of key players, including seven UW Huskies invited to the NFL Combine.  The team must find a way to replace three of four starting defensive backs this season as well.
