Washington vs. Arizona State: Gameday Guide

It’s Gameday! Below you will find everything we’ve written this week that relates directly to the game at 3:30pm.

As for my prediction of the game, I suppose I’ve had my mind made up all week long. I’ve just been going back and forth on how decisive the result will be, and how high-scoring. If we were judging this one by preseason standards, the Sun Devils would be expected to put up 30+ points while terrorizing Keith Price defensively with the likes of Will Sutton and Carl Bradford. I still think they’ll score nearly that many points, and that Sutton and Bradford will do some terrorizing, but I also believe that Washington is the better team, and that at Husky Stadium, this one wouldn’t be too close. Sankey can be counted on for around 150 rushing yards and a touchdown or two no matter who the opponent is or where the game is taking place, and that makes the passing game so much easier for Price and his deep group of receivers. I’m more worried about the defense, given the blown coverages at Illinois that allowed the Illini to stay competitive to the end. Make Kelly and Grice earn every first down by avoiding defensive breakdowns and the Huskies should win a close one.

While most of the UW media has Washington winning this one, it’s important to remember that with this game taking place in Tempe, Vegas favors the Sun Devils. Erik is convinced that the Husky stars will need to shine for a win today.

A win may not be a given, but it’s certainly necessary for a successful Husky football season.

All Marion Grice does is score touchdowns.

Oh, and ASU quarterback Taylor Kelly isn’t half bad (he’s actually all the way good).
