Washington Versus Boise State: Gameday Guide

facebooktwitterreddit

We’re here. Almost two full years after the Dawgs vacated Husky Stadium, six months since the Vegas Bowl loss to the Broncos, and five long days since the start of game week, this is the day. The only waiting left is the few hours before kickoff. I’ve said just about all I can say about this game. So many posts have been written since the off season began projecting the performance of both teams, examining particular players, previewing position groups. Now the next time I will write a word about Husky football, it will be a reaction to a real live football game, and that is truly magnificent.

Over the past week we have written a great number of articles you might find to be a useful distraction during the countdown to 7pm. Here I’ve collected them for your convenience along with some external info on the Broncos. Thanks for reading and have one hell of a good gameday. Oh, and since Evan did the preview, I haven’t had a chance to throw out a score prediction: Washington 28, Boise State 24

Stories Especially Worth Reading On Gameday:

The main preview
is probably a good place to start. Evan goes through and examines a number of elements of tonight’s game and throws out his prediction for the final score.

But right after that, read this piece on what it means to be a Husky from Paul Somerstein. I dare you not to get chills or shed a totally manly fan-tear.

One player you won’t be seeing on the field today is tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, as he’s been suspended for one game as a result of his DUI in March.

Oh, and here’s something I put together about my goals for the site and as a writer this season. And it’s that time of year so I delved into my own personal fandom a bit too.

As for some Boise State info, this is the most comprehensive collection of position previews and other such info from Chadd Cripe, the Broncos beat writer for the Idaho Statesman.
