The Morning Haul: 8/5
Camp officially starts today after a morning press conference with Coach Sark. If any real information comes out in the press conference, I will post about it, but otherwise I’ll probably just leave it to twitter commentary. Press conferences are usually just stock answers, and Sark is often guilty of cliche coach-speak responses.
As for what emerges in camp, I will definitely be posting often. Thing is, I can’t go to camp. I am in Bellingham, and I am not media. Even if I were media, it sounds like they’re being even more restrictive about practice reporting. But what information does come out from various respected media sources, I will make sure to pass along with whatever commentary I might have to tack on.
Stories Especially Worth Reading:
Mason Kelley, who did a great job of covering prep sports at the Times before leaving for a gig at ESPN and shortly thereafter dropping off the radar, has started up what looks to be an intriguing project at CoachSark.com. They look to be short snippets of life within the husky football program. A blog written by a professional shining light on moments we wouldn’t otherwise hear about. There’s one up about freshman introductions and another about the wake-up call this morning (it’s still 9:24am on that same morning, so apparently this thing is going to be very up to date). Really cool stuff.
Another Better or Worse post from the UW Dawg Pound, this time focusing on the running backs.
Kevin Cacabelos with a nice Q&A with four-star California recruit Marquese Chriss. Good to see that someone is still writing about Husky hoops. I should probably do a little of that myself today.
