Pac-12 Network Launches Redesigned Websites
By Evan Webeck
As part of the Pac-12’s new Pac-12 Network, each school in the conference will be getting fresh, new websites. Eight of those launched Monday morning, including the University of Washington’s. The only schools without new sites are Colorado, Oregon, Utah and USC. The latter two will get new sites at a later date, while the former were already using the host that the rest are now using and will not change, at least for now. Here’s a look at all of the new sites.
Arizona Wildcats
Arizona State Sun Devils
California Golden Bears
Oregon State Beavers
Stanford Cardinal
UCLA Bruins
Washington Huskies
Washington State Cougars
Overall, it’s hard not like the change. Except on GoHuskies.com. Our own Huskies, I thought, were ahead of the curve with athletic websites in the conference. The design was sleek, easy to navigate and modern. Not to say this one isn’t, but it seems like a downgrade.
I’m sure after a couple weeks of navigating around the site, I’ll forget about the old one completely, but for now, you can call me disgruntled.
From my perusing around the other seven new sites, I like the design and flow of them. Some better than others, but all draw positive grades from me. Even UW’s would score highly for me…if it wasn’t competing with the old one.
While they all have somewhat similar formats and menus, the my one wish would be for all the sites to have the same layout. Show some conference unity. For someone who constantly goes on all the sites in the conference, it would be nice for everything to be in the same place. Nonetheless, this is certainly a step in the right direction. I look forward to seeing how USC and Utah’s sites turn out.
