The Morning Haul 5/31
By Evan Webeck
Wow, I can’t believe we’re almost into June already. The year is nearly halfway over! Anyways, I hope you have a good last day of May, Husky fans. Here are some links to catch up on.
Phil Steele recently released his preseason All-Pac-12 teams (four of them!). Eight Huskies made the cut, with four making the first or second team.
Preseason poll voters can’t seem to decide on how to evaluate the deep Pac-12, writes Ted Miller.
"Phil Steele is counting down his preseason top 40, and he lumps Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington and UCLA from 31 to 27…The Sporting News has Stanford playing Alabama for the national title, Oregon eighth, UCLA at 20th and Oregon State at 23rd…Athlon has Oregon third, Stanford seventh, Arizona State at 23rd and Oregon State at 25th."
Kimberlee Souza was the walk-off hero on Thursday versus Nebraska. The Huskies will face Tennessee tonight at 7:00 p.m. PDT on ESPN.
"Surely, then, the chess game was in full effect when Souza stepped in against Lockman to lead off the bottom of the eighth, the details of her previous at-bat running through her mind and the frustration of a tough day fueling her. “I just knew I needed to be aggressive and get a good pitch to hit,” Souza said when asked about any carryover."
