Washington Football Recruiting: Tyree and Tyrell Robinson Stick With Oregon

facebooktwitterreddit

This morning Tyree and Tyrell Robinson announced that they will both sign a letter of intent to play football at the University of Oregon, meaning that they are sticking with the verbal commitment they made to Oregon on September 9th, 2012.

The twins from Lincoln High School in San Diego, California decided to reopen their recruitment after Chip Kelly’s departure to the NFL coaching ranks, and after both visited Washington this past weekend, it was widely reported that they were split between the two schools, Tyree more in favor of Oregon, with Tyrell attempting to convince him about Washington. Apparently Tyrell was not successful.

Tyrell is the larger of the two, listed at 6’4” 210 pounds, and is expected to play as an outside linebacker. Tyree is listed at 6’3” and 190 pounds and will play wide receiver, though he is also capable of playing defensive back. No matter where they play, both are outstanding athletes, and Oregon fans should be excited to have them.

And the thing is, that’s not all. Both Robinsons are expected to play basketball as well, and are considered legitimate three-star basketball recruits. Tyree is listed as a shooting guard, while Tyrell is supposedly a small forward, though if he does really stand at 6’4”, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play as a two under Oregon head coach Dana Altman.
