Football Recruiting: Azeem Victor Signs LOI With Washington

Azeem Victor, the outside linebacker from Pomona High School in Pomona, California, has sent in his letter of intent, sealing a commitment to Washington that has been rock solid since the 9th of December, 2012, the day his verbal was given.

In fact, though Walker is a legitimate three-star prospect listed by Rivals as having an offer from Oregon, he was perhaps most noteworthy throughout the recruiting process for his steadfast dedication to Washington, and his penchant for recruiting other Class of 2013 prospects considering Washington via his twitter feed.

Listed at 6’4” and 225 pounds, Victor has very solid size for an 18-year old outside linebacker, considering that he already outweighs current starting linebackers Travis Feeney and Princeton Fuimaono by at least 15 pounds. Still, despite that fact, I would expect Victor to redshirt as a freshman unless Sark and Co. really think he is ready to compete for playing time in his first year, as there is a great deal of existing depth at linebacker.

Still, there’s nothing wrong with a freshman redshirting, and with the intensity, focus, and love for Washington that he has made very apparent throughout the recruiting cycle, I think he has a great chance to compete for a starting spot sometime in the next several years.
