UW Target Kyle Washington Chooses North Carolina State
Kyle Washington, a forward from Minnesota, gave his verbal commitment to the North Carolina State Wolfpack this morning during a visit to the school’s campus. Washington was being targeted by Coach Romar and the Huskies, and was set to visit the University of Washington next week alongside Aaron Gordon, Darin Johnson, and UW commit Nigel Willaims-Goss. He was also considering offers from Ohio State, Marquette, Louisville, and Iowa State before this decision.

Washington is listed at 6’9″ and 215 pounds, making him ideal for the fast-paced style of Romar’s team. He is listed as a four-star prospect by ESPN, Scout, and Rivals, and would have made a terrific addition to the Husky program. Still, the cupboard is hardly bare for the Huskies in this recruiting class. Aaron Gordon, a five-star recruit, is still set to visit next weekend alongside Darin Johnson and Nigel Williams-Goss. If Gordon does commit to Washington, the 2013 class has to be considered a success regardless what else happens.
Now, do not expect any sort of immediate, on the spot commitment from Gordon, as he plans to delay his decision until the Spring, but this visit could be huge, as a positive impression could go a long way towards a favorable decision. We will keep you updated on any new recruiting news.
