Aaron Gordon: Husky Fans Will Sweat This One Out
By Mark Knight
Aaron Gordon is one of the best players in the 2013 class and is considered the best dunker in high school because of his highlight videos. His recruitment has been fairly consistent since his freshman year in high school. He has liked primarily West Coast schools with the exception of Kentucky.
Within the last year he has said that Washington was his favorite but that doesn’t mean that UW fans won’t have to sweat out his recruitment. He isn’t ready to commit.
Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority tweeted that Gordon won’t commit this summer and will more likely be towards the end of the school year (next school year).
Scheer also tweeted that Gordon will be visiting Arizona for the Red/Blue Game for the Wildcats. While Gordon has said that Washington was the favorite many think that neither Arizona or Kentucky are that far behind in the recruitment.
In fact, Jason McCleary of LeftCoastRecruiting.com, told me that Gordon isn’t that impressed lately with the Pac-12 and will at least consider schools coming hard for him back East. This doesn’t mean that Gordon is ready to remove UW as his favorite nor take Arizona off his list. This simply means, he is no longer limited to the West Coast. This is part of the reason Kentucky has made up so much ground.
This all being said, Husky fans will now need to sweat out another recruitment. I have already received texts, tweets, and messages hoping that Gordon doesn’t pull a Terrence Jones or as Husky fans say, “He Who Must Not Be Named”.
Either way this one may come down to the wire and similar to the hydro-races at Mariners game just because the “Purple” boat is ahead right now doesn’t mean the another boat won’t win in the end.
