2013 Football Recruiting Class Shaping Up Early
By Mark Knight
The Washington Huskies have a 2013 class that consists of six players this early in the process. This isn’t incredibly abnormal for a school to pick up six early commitments but out of these six players, 5 are ranked a 3-star or better by Scout and Rivals.
Rivals even includes a soft verbal from 4-star running back, Aaron Baltazar. Scout doesn’t have the same verbal listed. However, if that is a true verbal, that would give the Huskies seven commitments and six of seven being nationally ranked.
This is a big uptick from last year, as the Dawgs had some early commitments but only one was ranked, Jeff Lindquist. The 2012 class ended with a huge splash but started with a crawl. This season they are out of the gates early picking up some solid commitments.
One thing to note, is that three of the six or seven are from the state of Washington thus showing that recruiting in-state is still a priority.
Let’s take a look at this early class. NOTE: these are all verbal commitments and in recruiting some of those change by before an NLI is signed.
