Senio Kelemete Drafted By The Arizona Cardinals
By Mark Knight
Senio Kelemete was drafted with the 16th pick in the fifth round by the Arizona Cardinals (151 overall). He is the second Husky to be drafted in the NFL draft followed by Alameda Ta’amu to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kelemete is an impressive interior lineman from the college level. He projects well in the NFL but needs time to develop into the starting role. He projects best at the left or right guard but doesn’t have experience at the center position. He is a strong physical lineman that has a strong motor.
He can hold up a pocket or slide out in screen plays. He has experience blocking for quarterbacks that like to move in Jake Locker and Keith Price. He is a strength guy that can play athletic.
The Cardinals are looking for depth on their line behind Daryn Colledge and Rex Hadnot. He could easily slide into the backup left guard role behind Colledge.
This is a solid pick for the Cardinals in this position in the draft. He was projected as a fourth or fifth round pick and that is exactly where he fell.
