Zach Banner Picks the USC Trojans
By Mark Knight
Zach Banner one of the most heralded recruits in the state of Washington and one of the best offensive lineman in the country. Today he decided to take his game to southern California and play for the USC Trojans.
Banner narrowed his choices down to Washington, Oklahoma, and USC. He visited each school, was recruited by both the football and basketball coach from each school but finally decided to go to USC where he plans to play both basketball and football.
His final visit was to the Trojans and after that visit he decided he had enough information to decide on a school and closed down talks with the media or any interviews. He talked it over with his family and decided that the opportunity at USC was best for him.
He was big on family and started and supported FOE (Family Over Everything), he thinks USC will be the best opportunity for him to eventually take care of his family for the long term. Many assumed UW would be the choice because of the location to his family but he believes the opportunity at USC will ultimately be best for him and his family.
Banner is listed as a 4-star on Scout.com, a 5-star on Rivals, and ESPN has him as a 4-star. He joins an already impressive recruiting class for Coach Lane Kiffin and the Trojans and quite possibly could be the best basketball player on the abysmal USC basketball team.
This is another in-state recruit that UW has not been able to land. And many fans will not be happy that UW once again missed on a very talented in-state recruit but overall the school could be set for a big signing day.
