Anthony Bennett Trims List to 5
By Mark Knight
Anthony Bennett, a 5-star Power Forward/Small Forward hybrid, out of Findlay Prep had a long list of 9 schools for the last couple of months and has announced today that he will trim it to 5. Washington, Florida, UNLV, Kentucky, and Oregon.
Adam Zagoria was the first to break the news here. And then shortly after, Anthony Bennett tweeted out his list.
The list is not a huge surprise as each school seems to have a connection or a recruiting strategy with the highly skilled big man.
- Washington is known as one of the schools recruiting Bennett the hardest. He also loves the style of play that UW runs.
- Kentucky has intrigued him for awhile and many assume the Wildcats are the favorites. However, he has made it clear that no team is the favorite.
- Florida is another team that he seems to be really intrigued by, they also may land his friend Khem Birch as a transfer.
- UNLV is the “hometown” team, the closest in proximity to Findlay Prep. UNLV fans are very supportive of Findlay. Khem Birch may also announce his decision to go here.
- Oregon is the destination of friend and teammate Dominic Artis. It is no secret that Artis is working hard to convince Bennet to be a Duck.
This is a recruit that many UW fans are pessimistic in landing but Lorenzo Romar obviously doesn’t think it is a longshot. Now Anthony Bennett has also declared that it is not a longshot by including Washington in his final 5.
The above tweet is his final tweet. Husky fans might enjoy that the Husky logo is the biggest, but I doubt it means a whole lot.
