Huskies beat the Portland Pilots 93-63

The Huskies put on an absolute clinic on their home court tonight as they beat Portland by 30 points.

There were 6 different Huskies in double figures. Terrence Ross lead the way with 24 points, CJ Wilcox had 17, Abdul Gaddy 15, and Aziz N’Diaye with 11. This was an impressive performance from almost the entire team.

Tony Wroten Jr. may have not had double figures in points but he filled up the stat columns in almost every category. He finished with 9 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. He had some passes that had the crowd jump to their feet in astonishment on multiple occasions. His court vision is incredible. However, he needs to get into the gym and work tirelessly on his free throws. He went 1-7 from the line.

CJ Wilcox the Pac-12 player of the week was able to contribute in scoring and 3PT shooting as he finished the game 3-5 from behind the arc and 4-4 at the line. He once again was able to show how immense of an asset he is to this team.

Terrence Ross easily had his biggest performance of this young season. He put up 24 points and was 6-8 from behind the arc. He also had 3 rebounds.

Shawn Kemp Jr. looked impressive on defense and was even able to secure a couple of rebounds in his short amount of time playing.

Abdul Gaddy is definitely the glue to this team. He makes everything tick and contributes to the success more than anyone else on the court. He is proving to be invaluable and him and Wroten are showing how amazing the two of them can be on the court together.

There are other players to speak about but the 4 guard combo of Ross, Gaddy, Wilcox, and Wroten is a ridiculous combination and could help carry this team very, very far.

Coach Lorenzo Romar yesterday said in his post game press conference that elite teams step on their opponents throats, beating Portland by 30 is just a start. Let’s see if UW can continue to do this throughout the year and against better opponents but they have proved that they can and they should.
