Husky Ballpark Renovations Follow-Up

With all of the excitement surrounding the $250 million renovations on Husky Stadium, it is easy to forget about the construction just down the road that has been under way since last summer at Husky Ballpark.

Construction on the $4 million facility is progressing and hopefully will be completed in time for the Husky home opener on February 21st against Seattle U.

This facility, which I first discussed in early September (https://thehuskyhaul.com/2011/09/04/guest-post-husky-ballpark-renovations/), is the first step in the much needed renovations to the outdated ballpark. The 9,000 square foot building will consist of locker rooms, a training room, a video room, a meeting room, and coaches’ offices all connected to the playing field.

This new team building will be a vast improvement over the disjointed facilities currently at the University of Washington.

The completion of this building will hopefully lead to the construction of a permanent seating bowl that will accommodate 3,000 fans and house a press box.

These projects will provide better conditions for players and will hopefully give the coaches another recruiting tool and a nice boost to the Husky baseball program.
