The View From the Press Box: Washington vs. Arizona
By Mark Knight
The first night game at Husky Stadium this year but not the last as next week the Huskies take on Oregon, also a 7:30pm kickoff.
The Huskies prepare to take the field for their “blackout” game as the fans will be wearing primarily black colors and the endzones are painted black.
The Huskies will prepare to take on the Wildcats after Arizona blew out UCLA 48-12. Arizona is looking fired up and ready to compete (finally), in the Pac-12. They had a lost 5 straight before taking on UCLA. Their Coach Mike Stoops was fired and that momentum carried them to an impressive victory over UCLA.
Quick Stats:
- Arizona averages 30.3 points a game.
- Washington sits at 34.7.
- Arizona has 2,612 yards through the air and Washington has allowed 1,991 yards through the passing game.
- Arizona has attempted 331 passes, while only 197 rushes. (They love to pass)
- Washington on the other hand has attempted 245 rushes for 1,214 yards.
- UW has also attempted 211 passes with 144 completions for 1,734 yards.
- Washington is the 3rd worse defensive unit in the Pac-12 allowing an average of 431.3 yards a game. While Arizona is the worst in the Pac-12 allowing 464.1 yards a game.
This could be a high scoring game. Stay tuned for the half-time analysis by Jeff Taylor. Enjoy the game!
