The game has since been CANCELLED due to the fact that by the players and coach Romar promoting it is apparently an NCAA violation. You suck, NCAA.

Here’s a dream scenario: Go watch today’s UW stars take on yesterday’s legends in an exhibition on the court at Hec Ed. Too good to be true? Romar and the team have made it happen; tomorrow at 3:30.

Recent Romar-era grads Isaiah Thomas, Nate Robinson, Spencer Hawes, Will Conroy, and Jon Brockman will form the “Alumni” team which will scrimmage this year’s Huskies squad. UW’s #1 NBA fan, Jamal Crawford, will serve as the team’s coach.

This just sounds awesome. I know that I’m going to try and leave work early to get there. I’d expect a great atmosphere and some real serious competition on the court. Thomas and Wroten went hard at each other during the summer league games and Romar will be the one calling the shots in this one.

How will UW match up with elite size this year? Let’s see how Romar attacks Spencer Hawes. Who will guard the other team’s elite scorer? Let’s see how Romar guards both Thomas AND Robinson at the same time. Can Gant and the other power forwards hold their ground in the post? Jon Brockman will definitely give those guys a tough time.

A lot may actually be learned from this one. I know that I’m excited. Bow Down.
