Demarquise Johnson Adds Another Visit

Demarquise Johnson is a hot commodity on the West Coast for the 2012 recruiting class. He is receiving interest from a lot of different High Majors throughout the country but has only 4 visits that are scheduled or being scheduled. This video by “YAYAREASFINEST” might be evidence of why he is such a big deal at the guard position:

Johnson has visits set up to Washington State on September 2, Gonzaga on September 15, and Washington on September 24. And now

UNLV is coordinating a visit with him sometime in October according to Johnson.

Johnson also said that he isn’t the type to commit on a visit but instead to take all of his visits and then evaluate his decision. He has no clear favorite but will let everyone remain equal until he takes his visits.

However, according to Johnson one program is “falling” and that is Missouri as they have now have added another guard to their 2012 recruiting class (Shawn Smith). He is mainly looking for impact and minutes as a freshman and having other “star” guards come into Missouri, he is less likely to go to there. However, they are not completely out of the running yet. It also probably doesn’t help that the head coach’s job is at stake as Johnson told me in a previous interview that Missouri does make him nervous with the sanctions swirling around.

UW is in good shape with Johnson because he loves that Lorenzo Romar is able to get guys into “the league”. He also loves their playing style as they get their guards heavily involved in the game. And UW has made him one of their biggest priorities for the 2012 recruiting class.
